HeltiQ Burn Dressing
HeltiQ Burn Dressing is a hydrogel-saturated dressing that immediately cools first, second and third-degree burns. You use the dressing as first aid in the initial phase of the burn when no water is available at the location, or on body parts that are difficult to cool with lukewarm water, such as the face. The burn dressing can also be used as a supplement to cooling with lukewarm water.
The hydrogel in the burn dressing consists of 90% purified water, disinfecting Tea Tree oil and a gel-forming ingredient. This makes it thicker than water, it does not evaporate, and it continuously cools the burn. The heat in the damaged skin is transferred to the hydrogel. The gel does not retain this heat but releases it immediately into the environment. As a result, the heat is quickly drawn out of the burn and further tissue damage is prevented. In addition to heat removal and cooling, the gel layer shields the burn from harmful bacteria, reducing the risk of infection.
Keep the dressing on your burn for at least 30–50 minutes. The dressing is most effective, covered or uncovered, during the first three hours. HeltiQ Burn Dressing does not adhere to the wound, is sterile packed and ready for immediate use. The dressing is also very suitable for light grazes or insect bites and is for single use only.

| Directions for use | 1. Open the package and take out the dressing. 2. Place the dressing on the wound and pour the remaining gel from the sachet over the dressing. Keep the dressing on your burn for at least 30–50 minutes. 3. Lightly fix the dressing with a HeltiQ Elastic Fixation Bandage and secure it with a HeltiQ Adhesive Plaster. Leave the dressing on for a maximum of 3 hours. |
